After the intense teaser process, Mazda introduced the next-generation Mazda 3 as part of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Japanese brand will offer a brand new equipment and a SkyActiv-X engine with SCCI (Spark-Controlled Compression Ignition) in a compact and fluid-looking compact model.
The SkyActiv-X, which was built on a gasoline engine frame, but was forced to burn under the same conditions as the diesel, was announced, but no technical data was shared about the unit. Mazda will sell the new Mazda 3 with the SkyActiv-G petrol engines with a volume of 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 liters and the 1.8-liter SkyActiv-D diesel unit. The Mazda 3s are mated to a six-speed manual or fully automatic transmission, while the gasoline samples will be updated on the intake manifold and pistons, while diesel-powered vehicles will benefit from the overhauled fuel injection system. In the meantime, all units will serve the light hybrid system called M Hybrid.
The Japanese Mazda 3 is preparing to offer the four-wheel drive system as an option, but it is more likely to target American markets. Mazda has not yet made a statement about the system details.
The design of the Mazda 3, which will be sold in a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan body, is generally much sharper and fluid. In the Hatchback body, the sedan version is sharper and more dense, while the roof is more inclined towards the rear.
From the front, all the versions of the Mazda 3 look alike. The nose section that the wide grille dominates is quite long and aggressive. The thin LED headlights integrated into the grille created a futuristic air. The Slender Column A is a harbinger of the Mazda 3.
Mazda, which has a simplicity philosophy in the cab, has separated its air conditioning controls with a 8.8-inch-sized infotainment system screen. The steering wheel of the model with the steering wheel is still analogous. Keeping the gearshift console clean, the Japanese company has provided the head-up display option to provide drivers with basic information without taking their eyes off the road.
The 2019 Mazda 3 does not neglect safety with new driving assist systems. The system named Navigation and Traffic Support is able to take on the vehicle’s gas, brake and steering commands. The blind spot warning system and front cross traffic warning are designed to reduce the risk of accidents.
Mazda, who has already developed the working formula of the commercially available model, has not yet announced when to launch the new Mazda 3. Look forward to pass the steering wheel of the Japanese compact model!
